OneSavings Bank Partners with Publicis Sapient

OneSavings Bank provides specialist lending and retail savings services to customers across the UK.

OneSavings Bank has launched a new digital savings platform, helping customers to open and fund an account in minutes. The platform was developed in collaboration with digital transformation consultancy Publicis Sapient.

Founded in 2011, OneSavings Bank provides specialist lending and retail savings services to customers across the UK. Looking to present itself as a technology-driven challenger to traditional institutions, OBS is working to become “a bank with the soul of a fintech,” and recently this quest has seen the bank launch a new digital savings platform.

The new platform offers a roster of new features, helping customers expedite and improve their experience with OBS. These include a seamless experience, empowering customers to take charge of their financial futures by registering and funding an account in as little as three minutes.

Along with self-service capabilities, automated savings operations and flexible product management, the app is built on cloud-native core banking solution Mambu, but with integrated Salesforce CRM, it is also able to access a wider fintech solutions ecosystem – enabling the platform to grow, and offer more services to its users in the future.

Matthew Baillie, Group Chief Transformation Officer for the OSB Group, said, “The launch of our new savings platform marks a significant milestone in OSB Group’s transformation journey. Together, we’ve created a secure, intuitive platform tailored to our customers’ needs, improving satisfaction, conversion rates, and operational efficiency. I am excited not only about this launch but also, the journey ahead as we continue to make large strides toward modernising our business into a bank with the soul of a fintech.”

The platform, officially introduced to the public in October 2024, represents a significant milestone in OSB’s digital transformation, securing its position as a market leader in financial services. But what also makes it remarkable is that it moved from concept to launch in a mere 18 months – thanks in part to the support of professionals from Publicis Sapient.

The journey began in 2022, with Publicis Sapient being selected as OSB’s exclusive end-to-end transformation partner. The consultancy then worked to reimagine the bank’s vision, develop a strategic roadmap to modernise the bank’s operations, create enduring capability and deliver a robust, scalable and customer and colleague centric platform that is flexible for the future.

Mark Smith, Vice President for Financial Services at Publicis Sapient, noted, “We’re incredibly proud to partner with OSB on their transformative journey, harnessing the power of our SPEED – Strategy, Product, Experience, Engineering, Data & AI – capabilities to deliver a modern, people-first solution. By seamlessly integrating leading technology platforms like Microsoft and Salesforce with best-in-class fintechs, we are building a dynamic, innovative ecosystem that elevates the customer and colleague experience.”

According to Smith, this not only drives “immediate value for OSB’s clients”, but also positions the bank for “sustainable growth in the rapidly evolving, fintech-driven financial landscape.” This is something which OSB’s Group Chief Operating Officer, Clive Kornitzer, was keen to highlight, while also noting the opportunities it gave to benefit existing customers.

Kornitzer concluded, “Our partnership with Publicis Sapient is built on shared goals and a mutual culture of collaboration, combining bold thinking with our 150-year heritage to deliver meaningful change for our customers. This achievement is a testament to the power of partnership and the dedication of our teams. Together, we’ve built a truly customer and colleague centric bank by embracing new technologies to drive our transformation forward, meeting the needs of both new and existing customers while staying true to the values that have earned their loyalty over the years.”
