Decathlon Taps Bambuser to Expand Visio Store Experience

Decathlon expands its Visio Store video shopping service, bringing personalised product guidance to more categories in France through real-time video and AR-powered consultations.

Decathlon has partnered with Bambuser to expand its Visio Store, a service that allows customers to book video appointments with sales associates for personalised guidance in choosing sports equipment.

Initially tested in the e-bike category, Decathlon has now rolled out this video service to ten additional product categories, including fitness, mountaineering, and golf, available exclusively in France.

Customers can book appointments at decathlon.fr, directly from the product page or the dedicated service page. After email confirmation, the customer is connected with a human sales advisor, trained directly by the sports design teams to present and compare products and guide customers to those that best meet their needs.

The service uses a showroom with specialised cameras that enable advisors to zoom in on the technical and aesthetic features of products, offering detailed demonstrations. In the mountaineering section, the service integrates an AR headset, allowing customers to visualise product footprints, such as camping tents, to better understand their dimensions and functionality.

“Putting customers at the heart of our actions means first knowing how to listen to them. At the Decathlon Customer Relations Centre, where the Visio Store project was born, we understood their main concern: the fear of making the wrong choice when purchasing a technical or investment product,” said Christophe Leclerc, Manager of the Decathlon France Customer Relations Centre.

“Thanks to personalised video advice, they gain peace of mind in their purchase and enjoy a memorable experience.”

Maryam Ghahremani, CEO at Bambuser, said, “We’re proud to support Decathlon in elevating their CX through personalised, real-time engagement. Our technology helps bring their extensive product range to life, and make it easier for customers to connect with the right expertise and find exactly what they need.”
