Aer Lingus Partners with Tesco Ireland

Aer Lingus and Tesco Ireland launch exclusive Avios partnership turning grocery shopping into timeless travel experiences

Tesco Clubcard members can use the retailer’s Reward Partner programme to convert Clubcard vouchers into Avios, the rewards currency of Aer Lingus’ loyalty programme, AerClub.

Aer Lingus and Tesco Ireland have announced a new partnership that provides AerClub members with a unique opportunity to convert their Tesco Clubcard vouchers into Avios, unlocking unforgettable travel experiences.

Tesco Clubcard members can use the retailer’s Reward Partner programme to convert Clubcard vouchers into Avios, the rewards currency of Aer Lingus’ loyalty programme, AerClub.

These Avios can then be redeemed on Aer Lingus flights, upgrades, hotel stays, car hire, and more, making it easier than ever to turn groceries into getaways. This partnership arrives just in time for Christmas, helping families stretch their budgets further while planning their next adventure, swapping turkeys for Türkiye.

Tesco will start issuing Clubcard vouchers to almost one million Clubcard members. Every €2.50 in Tesco Clubcard vouchers can be converted into 600 Avios, turning everyday spending into a memorable travel moment.

To begin collecting Avios with a Tesco Clubcard, members need to have their AerClub membership number ready when exchanging Tesco Clubcard vouchers for Avios in the Tesco app or at Tesco.ie/clubcard/reward-partners.

Those who are not yet members of Tesco Clubcard or Aer Lingus’ AerClub can join both programmes free of charge.

Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer, said, “As we approach the 10th anniversary of AerClub, we’re more committed than ever to making the programme even more rewarding for our loyal members.”

“Through our new partnership with Tesco Ireland, members can convert Clubcard vouchers into Avios, allowing them to make significant savings on travel experiences. In real terms, this means a stroll down the aisles of Tesco brings you one step closer to the sun-soaked isles of Spain.”

“It’s a simple, rewarding way to make everyday shopping go the extra mile.”

Suzanne Quinn, Tesco Ireland Customer Director, said, “We are always looking for exciting new ways we can reward customers for shopping with Tesco, and what better way to do it than to team up with Aer Lingus and Avios.”

“In our next Clubcard statement, we’ll be giving back over €7.5 million in vouchers to our loyal customers – converted into Avios, that’s enough for 450,000 people to fly one way to Paris! Clubcard vouchers last for two years and can be found in tesco.ie app, so vouchers already issued can be used for this amazing new Reward too.”

“Thanks to this landmark announcement with Tesco Ireland, Aer Club members can now benefit from even more ways to collect and redeem Avios, underscoring our dedication to building one of the world’s most connected and rewarding loyalty network.”

As the loyalty currency of Irish flag carrier Aer Lingus, members can collect and redeem Avios across a broad ecosystem of travel, retail, and financial services partners.

From flights and hotel stays to groceries and online shopping, Avios allows members to turn their everyday spending into meaningful rewards, such as flights, Business Class upgrades, car hire, and so much more.

Tesco Ireland is the latest partner where AerClub members can collect Avios, following successful partnerships with brands such as Uber, Revolut and the Bank of Ireland, as well as the Aer Lingus eStore, which allows members to collect Avios with hundreds of brands when shopping online.
