Amazon Launches Drone Delivery Service In Arizona

More than 50,000 items are available for Amazon’s drone delivery in Tolleson, including household products, beauty items and office supplies.

Amazon has launched Prime Air drone delivery for customers in Tolleson, Arizona.

Customers who live near Amazon’s same-day facility in the city, which is located west of Phoenix, can now have deliveries completed in under an hour using the company’s MK30 drones.

These smaller sites are hybrid, part fulfilment centre, part delivery station.

More than 50,000 items are available for drone delivery in Tolleson, including household products, beauty items and office supplies. Products have to weigh five pounds or less to be eligible, and there is a fee for the service.

In an online post, Amazon said, “Since starting drone delivery in 2022, we’ve delivered thousands of items to customers in less than an hour. Last year we also began delivering prescription medications in partnership with Amazon Pharmacy to customers in College Station, Texas. We’ve received great feedback from customers and communities as we’ve rolled out the service.”

“Earlier this year, we announced we hit our fastest Prime delivery speeds ever in the US and around the world, with more than five billion items arriving the same or next day globally.”

“As Amazon embarks on the national expansion of its drone delivery programme, we’re proud to have their innovative presence in our community. By bringing this service to new communities, they’re not just delivering goods; they’re delivering opportunities and economic growth for all,” said Juan F. Rodriguez, Mayor of Tolleson, earlier this year.

“Amazon’s commitment to innovation exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit that drives our city forward.”
