Workday, integrating AI at the core of its platform, will leverage AWS technologies like Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker JumpStart to create genAI capabilities.
Amazon Web Services has announced an enhanced collaboration with Workday to develop generative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, jointly create innovative customer experiences, and invest in joint go-to-market strategies to accelerate cloud transformation for customers.
“Since 2008, AWS and Workday have worked together to help thousands of customers across every industry accelerate cloud migrations and drive faster, more intelligent financial and workforce decisions. With AWS as a preferred cloud services provider, Workday can quickly develop new ways to help organisations around the globe become more responsive and data-focused. We look forward to deepening our partnership across joint customer workstreams and new innovations and developing genAI capabilities to help companies around the world move faster and with greater certainty,” said Kathrin Renz, Vice President of AWS Industries.
Workday, integrating AI at the core of its platform, will leverage AWS technologies like Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker JumpStart to create genAI capabilities that assist customers in managing their workforce and financial assets. For instance, Workday employs AWS’s genAI to help clients quickly generate job descriptions, accurately analyse and correct contracts for revenue reporting, and create personalised employee talent profiles.
Moreover, Workday is collaborating with the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center to explore new applications of genAI and discover new use cases. This partnership allows Workday to deepen its use of Amazon SageMaker, enhancing the performance of large language models (LLMs) by implementing model guardrails and responsible AI policies and evaluating genAI applications for production.
Increasing native integrations for developers
Workday is enhancing its native integrations with AWS to allow developers and customers to utilise AWS technologies in creating custom applications. Customers can combine their Workday data with AWS services like AWS Lambda, Amazon EventBridge, Amazon Comprehend, Amazon S3, Amazon Textract, and Amazon Translate in Workday Extend to build secure, scalable custom apps for finance and HR processes. This integration aims to improve the developer experience, enable the creation of customised apps that reduce operational costs, and help manage unplanned demand spikes and resource disruptions.
“This expanded partnership combines the power of Workday AI and AWS to deliver AI features to our customers faster and more efficiently. With Workday AI, we’re focused on delivering value for our customers through the use of enterprise data in their Workday applications. By leveraging AWS, we can focus more directly on that goal, while using the tools and services they provide for a range of model management and operations,” said Shane Luke, Vice President of Product and Engineering and Head of AI and ML, Workday.
Expanding joint go-to-market collaboration
Workday and AWS will invest in joint sales and go-to-market initiatives as part of this expanded partnership. These efforts will accelerate the acquisition of new Workday customers and raise awareness of Workday’s availability on the AWS Marketplace. In addition, this will assist Workday customers running on AWS in deploying preconfigured Workday solutions.
