Barclays, Visa Expand Partnership to Drive Future of Payments

Visa will provide Barclays with access to enhanced services supporting both issuing and acquiring, whilst enabling Barclays to leverage the extensive range of Value Added Services (VAS) that Visa offers.

Barclays and Visa have announced a new, expanded strategic partnership and multi-year agreement. This milestone reinforces a foundation of innovation, trust, and shared ambition, with a renewed commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for consumers, businesses, and the broader economy.

The agreement spans issuing and acquiring across Barclays’ Retail, Corporate, Business, US and Private Bank segments, enabling secure, seamless, and future-ready payment experiences for millions of consumers and merchants. 

Visa will continue to support Barclays-issued card credentials in the UK, while also driving growth in US Retail issuing and expanding commercial issuing into new markets.

As part of the expansion, Barclays and Visa will explore new opportunities to innovate across a broad spectrum of payment types, channels, and technologies.
