Foodora Improves CX With New Checkout Service

By using Trustly’s technology, foodora customers will be able to pay for food orders directly from their bank without requiring a credit or debit card, thereby enabling quicker and more efficient purchases.

Food delivery service company foodora has introduced a new checkout service option for customers in Finland via a collaboration with Open Banking payments provider Trustly.

While foodora has initially rolled out the Open Banking payments solution in Finland, it intends to expand the checkout option into other European markets, including Norway, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and Austria, imminently.

By using Trustly’s technology, foodora customers will be able to pay for food orders directly from their bank without requiring a credit or debit card, thereby enabling quicker and more efficient purchases.

Among the benefits cited are reduced transaction costs for foodora and quicker payment processing for its partners.

Trustly’s collection model also facilitates fast settlement, reduces fraud, and remits instant customer payouts for refunds or reimbursements.

Herbert Haas, Chief International Officer Europe at foodora, said, “We chose to partner with Trustly as its cutting-edge Open Banking payment solution aligns perfectly with foodora’s commitment to innovation and to improve the customer experience.

Trustly’s technology offers a seamless alternative to traditional card payments, which not only improves the efficiency of transactions for our customers, but also has the potential to increase conversion for our partners.

Jussi Lindberg, Chief Revenue Officer at Trustly, added that its technology is designed to make online payments as simple and secure as possible.

“By partnering with foodora, we aim to enhance the payment experience for both customers and vendors, driving higher conversion rates and customer satisfaction,” Lindberg said.

Last month, global technology company Lenovo launched an Open Banking at checkout service for its customers in the UK and Continental Europe, provided by Trustly.

Earlier this year, Trustly partnered with MoneyGram to introduce cardless payments to millions of MoneyGram users across Europe.
