Glovo Rolls Out Personalised App Features

Glovo introduces new app features, including an AI-powered gifting assistant, Flash Deals, and social profiles to enhance personalisation and food discovery across markets.

Glovo has announced a new round of app updates focused on personalising the user experience and enhancing product discovery.

Daniel Alonso, Chief Product Officer at Glovo, said, “We are handing the keys of personalisation to our users. While we will showcase the most relevant content for them, we will also enable them to shape their homepage as they want.”

Glovo is launching a new gifting journey inside the app, with a dedicated landing page and chatbot powered by AI that will help customers find the perfect gift. It’s designed to solve a common frustration: wanting to order or send a thoughtful gift, but not knowing where to start.

The new virtual assistant guides customers based on three simple inputs: occasion, recipient, and budget. Users can then swipe through suggestions, like or dismiss options, and add to cart, all in one journey.

Connie Kwok, VP of Quick Commerce at Glovo, said, “Gifting is one of the main reasons customers enter into the retail stores on Glovo. Thinking of the perfect gift should be simple, but often isn’t.”

“With our new AI assistant, we’re bringing guidance and curation to a space that can often be overwhelming to create a combination of Quick Commerce and AI that is more helpful and user-centric.”

Glovo is introducing Flash Deals – exclusive, time-limited discounts designed to help customers save money on food orders while providing local restaurants with a new marketing tool to attract customers and drive sales.

Glovo is also expanding the user profiles. Every user will have a personalised profile with their name, photo, Picks, and favourite dishes. Friends can explore each other’s food journeys in real time, making social recommendations easier to act on.

“This is about bringing offline restaurant recommendations from friends inside our app. We want to make it easier for customers to decide what to order, and friends can be a great source of inspiration and validation,” added Daniel Alonso.

The new features will be gradually rolled out across the 23 countries and more than 1,800 cities where Glovo operates.
