Grubhub Introduces Fee Return Programme

The nationwide programme will distribute $100,000 in Grubhub credit to 5,000 diners who paid food delivery fees on any food delivery app in 2025, functioning as a refund on previously paid delivery fees.

Following the removal of delivery and service fees on restaurant orders of $50 or more, Grubhub introduced an additional Tax Day offer called the Grubhub Fee Return.

The nationwide programme will distribute $100,000 in Grubhub credit to 5,000 diners who paid food delivery fees on any food delivery app in 2025, functioning as a refund on previously paid delivery fees.

From 6 April through 15 April, diners could submit a Grubhub Fee Return application by uploading a 2025 receipt from any food delivery app that included fees, for a chance to receive $20 in Grubhub credit. The process was designed to be simple and did not require complex forms.

Tax season often prompts consumers to reassess their spending, particularly on discretionary purchases. Given that 46% of Americans identify this period as the most financially stressful time of year, the initiative aimed to address cost-related concerns. To support the campaign, Grubhub partnered with comedian and social media creator Veronika Slowikowska.

“Tax season and I have a very complicated relationship. Being forced to revisit all my financial decisions from the past year has definitely led to some spiralling and maybe a little secret bill-shredding,” said Veronika Slowikowska.

“But unlike my past mistakes, delivery fees and service fees on bigger Grubhub orders are already a thing of the past, which feels like real growth. And now they’re giving people the opportunity to get back some of the fees from last year’s orders? I was like…finally. Something I can get behind. Let’s bring a little joy to this otherwise painful moment,” Slowikowska said.

The campaign also included a promotional film highlighting the concept of “Taxiety,” reflecting consumer behaviour during tax season.

In addition to the Fee Return programme, Grubhub introduced limited-time offers available through 15 April. These included discounts on qualifying restaurant orders and incentives for new users.

The offers can be combined with the company’s no-delivery fee and no-service fee policy on eligible orders, allowing diners to apply multiple savings in a single transaction.
