Salesforce kicked off its annual Mega affair Dreamforce in San Francisco this month, Titled: The Great reunion.
Around 40,000 attendees congregate at Moscone centre to mark Salesforce’s 20th anniversary. The Company’s Co-CEOs Marke Benioff and Bret Taylor made a slew of big announcements in their keynote address including product updates for Salesforce and Slack.
Here’s everything you need to know;
Salesforce Genie
The launch of Salesforce Genie topped the announcements list. The whole Salesforce Customer 360 platform is powered by Salesforce Genie, a hyperscale real-time data platform. It has improved the effectiveness of personalised customer assistance. It can be used in conjunction with Einstein’s work to produce predictions and the optimal course of action.
B2C companies can also benefit from using the Salesforce Genie. The salesperson, brand ambassadors, and marketing staff have an easier time of it.
Net Zero Marketplace
Salesforce used the conference stage to introduce Net Zero Cloud and Net Zero Cloud Marketplace. Both products help organisations meet their sustainability goals, the former assists businesses in managing sustainability data, automating supplier emissions tracking and forecasting and mitigating risk while the latter will make carbon credit purchases simple, and transparent allowing buyers and ecopreneurs to accelerate climate change at scale.
Salesforce/WhatsApp Partnership
Global businesses will be strengthened by this partnership. Businesses will be able to create WhatsApp communications that can be controlled from the Salesforce platform with the integration of the WhatsApp Business Platform and Salesforce Customer 360.
A Facebook post from Mark Zuckerberg read, “We’re partnering with Salesforce so all businesses that use their platform can use WhatsApp business messages to answer customer questions, run marketing campaigns and sell directly in chat. More and more people prefer to communicate with businesses over text. That’s why we launched our Cloud API earlier this year and are now partnering with Salesforce.”
Slack Huddles
The debut of Slack Canvas was the other significant announcement. Since it was purchased by Salesforce, Slack has undergone a change.
Platforms like Slack canvas and Huddle coworking, strengthen the community of users. Slack canvas enhances the Slack channel and enables users to interact with Salesforce data. Features like screen sharing and video are available with Huddle coworking. After the huddle, users can join chat threads and join any conversation on any channel.
Salesforce Payments
New payment options like Afterpay and Venmo are coming to Commerce Cloud shops.
According to Salesforce, implementing these new techniques will be as easy as turning the appropriate switches backend.
It appears that different payment options will be shown to various users (with the help of Salesforce Genie) based on their interactions with other users in the past.
