Tesco Rolls Out Full-Basket Offer to Whoosh

The full-basket offer by Tesco has been partially enabled by the supermarket’s delivery partner, Stuart and its team of car and van driving couriers.

Tesco has introduced full-basket shopping to its rapid grocery delivery service, Whoosh. Order sizes for the service had previously been limited by the weight and size that could be safely transported on the back of a moped.

However, during certain times of the day, the maximum order size has been scrapped in select stores, believed to number in the hundreds. The full-basket offer has been partially enabled by the supermarket’s delivery partner, Stuart and its team of car and van driving couriers.

The availability of the service’s full-basket offer depends on whether there are couriers with larger vehicles in the location when the shopper is using the Tesco app.

Additionally, Whoosh now enables customers to schedule deliveries for later the same day from selected shops. It is understood that the full-basket Whoosh offering will typically be available for shoppers scheduling orders to arrive later the same day.

Stuart CEO Cornelia Raportaru said, “If you’re closer to a large Tesco store, you could literally order anything you want.”

“Our strategy has been to push on innovation and do things no one else is doing. One example is large baskets – the appreciation that [shoppers] want to order a large basket for same-day delivery and not have to wait two days.

“Today in the UK, there’s almost no one except Stuart that has that capability that is cost-effective on all sides and rewarding also for the courier partners.”
