JetBlue and United Airlines have unveiled a new collaboration, Blue Sky, to offer customers expanded travel options and greater loyalty rewards. The partnership is pending regulatory approval and will allow passengers from both carriers to earn and redeem miles or points across each other’s networks.
United’s MileagePlus members will be able to use their miles on JetBlue’s routes to the Caribbean, while JetBlue’s TrueBlue members gain access to United’s vast global footprint. The integration of loyalty benefits is set to enhance the travel experience, offering perks such as priority boarding, complimentary preferred and extra legroom seating, and same-day flight changes across both airlines.
JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty said, “This collaboration with United is a bold step forward for the industry — one that brings together two customer-focused airlines to deliver more choices for travellers and value across our network.”

Flights from both airlines will be available on each other’s websites and apps, simplifying the booking process. Blue Sky also includes an interline agreement, enabling smoother connections and integrated service without altering the airlines’ branding or flight numbers.
Over time, members will enjoy reciprocal benefits as part of the deal, including pooled miles/points with friends and family, no blackout dates, and revenue-based accrual and redemption across both programs. Both programs offer access to premium seating and free baggage.
Moreover, the collaboration will integrate travel services through JetBlue’s Paisly platform, which will power United’s hotel, rental car, cruise, and insurance bookings. Paisly’s standout feature, a dedicated “Helpful Humans” customer service team, emphasises a personal touch to customer care.
