SPAR Norway has introduced a quick-commerce service targeting grocery delivery within 20–45 minutes. The SPAR QuickCommerce service was initially rolled out across 16 stores and expanded to more than 60 locations by the first quarter of this year. Customers can place orders at in-store prices and receive them at home.
The platform was developed through collaboration between SPAR Norway’s internal teams, including IT and procurement, alongside delivery partner Foodora. It relies on API (application programming interface) integration to enable automated data exchange between stores and delivery platforms.

In its statement, the company said: “The solution strengthens SPAR Norway’s position by meeting growing customer expectations for rapid delivery and supports the retail organisation’s broader strategy of putting the customer first through innovation, digitalisation, and profitable omnichannel growth.”
Orders are picked and processed by in-store staff using a Foodora terminal while couriers manage last-mile delivery. According to the company’s statement, the model does not require capital investment from independent retailers, allowing broader adoption across the network.
The company said the rollout began in September 2025 and reported an average order value of Nkr460 ($47.96) and an average basket size of 12.5 items.

SPAR Norway indicated that further development could extend across NorgesGruppen’s portfolio. It includes potential integration with the Trumf loyalty programme, campaign interfaces, real-time inventory visibility within delivery applications, and enhanced reporting tools.
The initiative forms part of the company’s wider omnichannel approach, aimed at meeting demand for faster delivery while maintaining operational simplicity for retailers.
Separately, SPAR International recently extended its preferred supplier agreement with South Korean retail technology provider SOLUM, maintaining its position as a supplier of electronic shelf labels and digital signage to SPAR-licensed organisations.
