JetBlue Expands TrueBlue to Deliver More Flexible Loyalty

JetBlue enhances its TrueBlue programme with subscription-based rewards and expanded redemption options, offering more flexible, personalised travel experiences.

JetBlue is changing its TrueBlue loyalty program. The same week that the airline raised checked baggage fees due to rising oil costs, it announced TrueBlue Subscriptions and the option for customers to redeem TrueBlue points to purchase additional travel extras.

TrueBlue Subscriptions allows travellers to capitalise on what JetBlue calls “Points On Repeat.” Subscribers can choose from three tiers, including Points Traveler, Points Adventurer and Points Trailblazer, based on their travel habits, with options to pay monthly or annually to earn points consistently while unlocking travel benefits, flight accelerators and redemption rebates.

Monthly subscription prices range from $13 to $67.75. Travellers paying $67.75 for Points Trailblazer status receive 2,500 points per month, a 10 per cent redemption rebate, and 3 points per $1 spent.

In addition to making it easier to earn points, JetBlue is expanding how customers can cash in. Travellers can now redeem points for travel extras such as seat assignments—including EvenMore, Core Preferred and Extra Legroom upgrades—first and second checked bags, pet travel fees and priority security access at select airports.

Ed Pouthier, Vice President of Loyalty and Personalisation, JetBlue, said, “TrueBlue has always been about delivering real value with rewards that go further and meet our customers’ travel preferences and expectations.”

Pouthier added, “With Points On Repeat and the ability to use points for extras, we’re giving our customers more control, more flexibility and more ways to make every trip their own while earning and saving along the way.”
