Infobip, Telescope to Enable SMS and WhatsApp Fan Engagement

Telescope has used Infobip’s messaging solutions to expand fan engagement campaigns, ensuring global participation regardless of location.

Infobip partnered with Telescope to deploy multiple fan engagement campaigns, including processing global voting for American Idol, the Brit Awards, and the BAFTA Awards. Together, the companies worked with major entertainment programs to enable real-time audience participation through messaging channels.

SMS and WhatsApp remained widely used as messaging channels due to their reach and availability across mobile devices worldwide, making them suitable for time-sensitive campaigns such as live voting during award shows.

Their ability to deliver messages almost instantly allowed businesses to process viewer interactions quickly and reliably during live events.

“Across numerous industries like retail, finance, travel, and more, SMS and WhatsApp are established, staple channels to dependably reach customers and intended audiences,”  said Goran Juršić, Chief Growth Officer at Infobip.

Juršić added, “Telescope has built something remarkable—turning millions of viewers into active participants in real-time. Our work with Telescope is only the latest use case to display how this reliable service can be deployed for effective two-way communication or through additional channels as fan expectations evolve.”

Each year, Infobip processes billions of SMS and WhatsApp messages across its platform. While channels such as RCS and iMessage continued to gain traction, SMS and chat apps remained a key part of omnichannel communication strategies.

According to Infobip’s 2025 Messaging Trends Report, most brands used SMS alongside the most popular chat apps in their region to effectively engage targeted audiences.

With millions of viewers tuning in to live TV competitions, Telescope enabled real-time interaction through voting, trivia, and other interactive experiences across major broadcast events.

Through this partnership, Telescope uses Infobip’s messaging solutions to expand fan engagement campaigns, ensuring global participation regardless of location.

“Our mission is to turn viewers into participants, and the key to doing that at scale is meeting the audience where they already are. Our partnership with Infobip allows us to offer a frictionless, highly scalable solution that removes traditional barriers to entry,” said Ori Nakar, Managing Director at Telescope.
