JetBlue enhances customer experience by offering rescue fares, expanding routes, and maintaining connectivity for disrupted travellers across key markets.
JetBlue has announced it will step in to support Spirit customers and team members affected by the airline’s shutdown.
The airline is offering $99 rescue fares for stranded travellers, capping fares to ensure affordability, and expanding its presence at Fort Lauderdale with new routes and increased capacity.
JetBlue is also extending support to Spirit crew members by continuing its jumpseat agreement and offering interview opportunities for open roles.
“This is really tough news for the thousands of Spirit team members affected, as well as the customers who were planning trips on Spirit. We got to know many of their crew members during our acquisition talks, and we’re thinking of everyone whose lives are being disrupted. We want to help fill the void created by this loss,” said Joanna Geraghty, Chief Executive Officer, JetBlue.
$99 Rescue Fares to Help Stranded Travellers Get Home
JetBlue is offering $99 one-way fares to customers with valid Spirit itineraries for the same routes or co-located airports, helping travellers rebook quickly.
The airline is also capping Blue Basic fares at $299 on key routes to and from Fort Lauderdale and San Juan to prevent last-minute price surges.

“With major operations in Fort Lauderdale and San Juan, we’re in a unique position to help Spirit customers get where they need to go and ensure flights remain affordable despite greater demand. We understand how unsettling it can be for travellers who suddenly feel unsure of what to do next. While JetBlue always offers a great experience at an everyday low fare, the fare cap is designed to help customers avoid higher last-minute prices as more people book alternative travel,” said Geraghty.
Taking Care of Spirit Team Members
JetBlue is extending its jumpseat agreement for Spirit pilots and flight attendants, helping them return home during the transition period.
The airline is also offering interview opportunities to qualified Spirit employees, supporting workforce continuity during the disruption.
Stepping Up Service in Fort Lauderdale
JetBlue is expanding its operations in Fort Lauderdale by adding 11 new destinations and increasing flight frequencies across existing routes.
The airline expects to operate nearly 130 daily departures from the airport this summer, marking its largest operation at the location.
“South Florida is a key market for JetBlue, and we recognise this is a challenging moment for many travellers. Our focus is on stepping up in the near term by adding service, maintaining connectivity, and keeping fares competitive, so customers can continue to travel with confidence,” said Geraghty.
