Text Expands AI Commerce Across Shopify and WhatsApp

Text has expanded its AI-powered commerce platform with Shopify and WhatsApp integrations, enabling brands to unify customer conversations, automate sales and deliver more personalised shopping experiences.

Text, an AI-powered customer service and sales platform, has launched its Shopify app and introduced a new integration with WhatsApp Business, expanding its AI-powered commerce platform across the channels where ecommerce interactions take place. The launch also builds on the company’s existing integrations with Meta Business, WordPress and Webflow to create a more connected customer journey.

The new integrations are designed to help businesses turn customer service interactions into revenue opportunities by combining AI-powered selling agents, live chat, shared inboxes and help desk capabilities within a single platform. Rather than treating customer support as a separate function, Text aims to enable brands to manage sales, service, and customer engagement from a single unified environment.

“Customer service is a company’s most valuable point of interaction with customers and thus can be its best selling agent. Our new Shopify App integration brings our full suite of capabilities and AI selling tools to ecommerce brands, and integrations with leading business tools and platforms make the customer experience more seamless and unified. Text is now everywhere where ecommerce happens,” said Filip Jaskólski, Chief Product Officer, Text.

Through the Shopify integration, AI agents can monitor customer behaviour, access live store information including product catalogues, shopping carts, order history and discount codes, and provide personalised recommendations during the buying journey. AI and human agents share a single inbox, allowing support teams to monitor conversations, intervene when required and continue assisting customers outside business hours.

The WhatsApp Business integration enables customer conversations to continue across website chat and WhatsApp without losing context, while the Meta Business integration synchronises customer interactions across both platforms. Text has also expanded support for WordPress and Webflow, allowing businesses to deploy AI-powered customer engagement tools without rebuilding their existing ecommerce infrastructure.

The text also announced image understanding capabilities for its AI Agent, enabling it to interpret screenshots and photographs during customer conversations, automate image-based workflows, and improve lead qualification. According to the company, customers using its AI selling capabilities have recorded a 53% increase in chat-attributed sales, a 386% increase in conversion rate over the past three months, and AI-powered customer support resolution rates averaging 74%.
