8×8 Expands AI Studio with Real-Time Voice Translation

8×8 is enhancing customer experiences with real-time voice translation, multi-LLM support, and AI tools designed to simplify service interactions.

8×8 has expanded the capabilities of its AI Studio platform with new features, including real-time voice translation, multi-LLM model selection, voice-driven agent building, and one-click integrations with enterprise applications. The updates are designed to help organisations build and deploy AI-powered customer experiences across voice and digital channels.

The latest addition, live voice translation, enables agents and customers to communicate in their preferred languages in real time across 13 languages without switching channels or using third-party interpreters. According to the company, the capability is currently available in early access.

With real-time translation in 8×8 AI Studio, we’re helping organisations communicate with customers in their preferred language, making support more accessible, more natural, and more human,” said Emil Ivov, Vice President of Product for Video Platform and Services, 8×8.

Breaking Down Language Barriers in Customer Service

The real-time translation feature allows agents to continue conversations even when customers speak different languages. Translation occurs automatically when a language mismatch is detected, enabling interactions to continue without transfers, callbacks, or additional interpretation services.

Both the original speech and translated content are captured within call records and advisor interfaces, allowing supervisors to review interactions for quality assurance and compliance purposes.

The capability builds on recent improvements to AI transcription accuracy, particularly for accented and non-native speech, helping improve reliability across multilingual customer interactions.

Expanding AI-Powered Customer Experiences

Since launching earlier this year, 8×8 AI Studio has added several capabilities to simplify AI deployment and customer service operations.

The platform now supports selectable AI models from Claude, Gemini, Grok, and ChatGPT, allowing organisations to choose the most appropriate model for each voice and text agent. It also offers one-click integrations with applications including HubSpot, Slack, Stripe, Atlassian, GitHub, and Dropbox.

Additional features include voice-based agent creation through push-to-talk interactions and automated conversion of legacy IVR systems into AI-driven call flows.

The launch reflects growing investment in AI-powered customer experience platforms that enable organisations to deliver more accessible, personalised, and efficient service interactions across channels.
