Recently, Amazon, launched its live commerce feature ‘Amazon Live’ in India wherein customers directly interact with social media content creators and buy products from links provided during their livestreams.
Every day between 10 am to 1 am, 15 livestreams will be run by Amazon.in. More than 150 content creators are engaged in livestreaming during the ongoing Amazon Great Indian Festival, claimed the firm.
In a public statement, Kishore Thota, Director, Customer Experience & Marketing, Amazon India said, “Through Amazon Live, Amazon India aims to connect the influencers with customers at scale, enabling them to make informed purchases.”
Amazon requires influencers with an account in platforms like YouTube, Instagram etc. for livestreaming on Amazon Live.
At present in India, Amazon Live is hosting live streams across categories, like electronics, fashion and beauty and home décor. The company stated that more than 70% of customers who shop on Amazon.in in regional languages are from tier 2 and below cities.
Creators can engage in using live product demonstrations, educating of audiences on product features, benefits and special offers, and helping customers make informed buying decisions.
