Flytrex Expands Drone Delivery Network Across Dallas-Fort Worth

Flytrex opens a new drone manufacturing facility in Texas to scale autonomous delivery operations and expand last-mile customer delivery services across Dallas-Fort Worth.

Flytrex has opened a new drone manufacturing and maintenance facility in Pilot Point, Texas, as the company accelerates plans to expand its autonomous delivery network across the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.

According to the company, the facility will support Flytrex’s goal of operating 60 drone delivery sites across the region by mid-2027 while strengthening local assembly, maintenance, and operational infrastructure.

The move builds on Flytrex’s expanding partnerships with DoorDash and Uber Eats as demand for faster, more scalable autonomous delivery services increases.

The nearly 8,000-square-foot facility will serve as the operational backbone for Flytrex’s regional expansion and can assemble thousands of drones annually.

Flytrex stated that the site will assemble its next-generation Sky2 delivery drone, which supports payloads of up to 8.8 pounds and is designed for scaled autonomous delivery operations.

“Dallas-Fort Worth is the proving ground for the future of drone delivery at scale. Opening this facility is about more than capacity – it’s about putting down roots. Our strategy is to build a manufacturing and maintenance presence in every major market we enter, so the entire supply chain, from assembly to last-mile delivery, is local,” said Amit Regev, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Flytrex.

Scaling Autonomous Delivery Operations

According to Flytrex, the new facility supports drone assembly, maintenance, pre-production testing, and operational deployment across the Dallas-Fort Worth region.

The company confirmed that the site currently employs 20 local staff members and expects to expand to approximately 50 as additional delivery sites come online.

Flytrex stated that the facility supports:

  • Drone manufacturing and assembly
  • Maintenance operations
  • Flight testing
  • Delivery network expansion
  • Localised logistics infrastructure

The company expects annual production capacity to reach roughly 1,000 drones as regional operations scale further.

Expanding Last-Mile Customer Delivery

Flytrex plans to open an additional drone delivery site in Rowlett, Texas, expanding service coverage to nearly 200,000 residents across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

According to the company, five to seven more delivery sites are expected to launch during the second and third quarters of 2026. The company stated that its broader goal is to expand access to autonomous delivery to approximately 5 million Dallas-Fort Worth residents through a distributed drone logistics network.

The Growth of Autonomous Retail Delivery

Flytrex stated that the expansion reflects increasing investment in autonomous delivery systems, localised logistics infrastructure, and AI-powered fulfilment operations. The company also referenced broader US policy momentum supporting domestically manufactured drone systems and localised supply chain operations.

According to Flytrex, building regional manufacturing and maintenance infrastructure helps improve operational scalability and supports faster, more resilient last-mile delivery experiences.
