Working with KFC’s in-house marketing communications team, Uncovered will anchor the brand more solidly into British pop culture, targeting a new generation of fans.
Restaurant chain KFC UK and Ireland has hired London-based firm Uncovered as its new social media agency following a competitive pitch process.
Founded in 2018, the independent agency will now oversee the fast food brand’s UK social media output to drive online brand fame.
Working with KFC’s in-house marketing communications team, Uncovered will anchor the brand more solidly into British pop culture, targeting a new generation of fans.
“Together we will build a capability that will unlock the full power of social to take KFC’s cultural presence to the next level. Our team is raring to go and ready to recruit a whole new generation of KFC lovers across all social platforms,” Uncovered co-founder Chris Cookson said.
KFC’s creative account is currently retained by Mother, which in the last two months has released a pair of adverts promoting the brand’s new lunch wrap deal and flagship ‘Tower Burger’. Media planning and buying is under the auspices of Mindshare.
KFC UK and Ireland marketing director, Kate Wall added that Uncovered seriously impressed KFC “with a new content strategy that will supercharge [its] presence on social.”
“And having a best-in-class partner who understands the social landscape will help us produce brilliant creative people want to watch – all backed with sharp data and insights.”
