Papa Johns Launches Lou AI for Personalised Ordering

Papa Johns introduces Lou AI to simplify ordering decisions and deliver more personalised, stress-free customer experiences through real-time AI assistance.

Papa Johns has announced the launch of Lou AI, an AI-powered platform deployed through Google Cloud’s Food Ordering agent.

Available within the Papa Johns app, Lou AI functions as an always-on digital assistant that anticipates group needs, adapts in real time, and guides customers toward more informed ordering decisions.

“Let’s say you’re hosting your kid’s birthday party – the first order of business is always pizza. You want everyone to be happy, but how do you arrive at the perfect order? Lou AI is designed to take away this friction, so families and friends can spend less time deciding and more time enjoying being together,” said Kevin Vasconi, Chief Digital and Technology Officer, Papa Johns.

Instead of manually coordinating multiple preferences, users can describe their group and preferences, and Lou AI generates tailored recommendations.

The system is designed to deliver a customised variety across the menu, enabling decisions that reflect group needs while reducing compromise and uncertainty.

“We’re using AI and personalisation to bring back the feeling of being known – just like how you feel with your favourite bartender or barista,” said Vasconi.

Lou AI, named in recognition of the brand’s roots in Louisville, Kentucky, is now available on the Papa Johns mobile app for both iOS and Android.
