Scene+ Expands Nationwide at Shell Canada Stations

Scene+ has expanded its loyalty program to more than 1,400 Shell Canada locations, enabling members to earn and redeem rewards on fuel and everyday convenience purchases across Canada.

Scene+ has expanded its loyalty ecosystem nationwide through a partnership with Shell Canada, allowing members to earn and redeem points at more than 1,400 Shell-branded stations across Canada. The rollout introduces fuel into the Scene+ rewards network, extending the program beyond grocery, entertainment, dining, banking, and retail purchases into one of the country’s most frequent spending categories.

The expansion enables Scene+ members to combine rewards with eligible Scotiabank and Tangerine payment cards, Shell Go+ benefits, and participating fuel discounts. According to the company, the integration is designed to make rewards more accessible within everyday consumer spending habits while strengthening customer engagement across retail and financial services ecosystems.

“Our expansion to Shell locations across the country is a milestone moment for Scene+ and our members. The loyalty landscape is dynamic, and we are continuing to lead by staying relentlessly focused on what our members tell us they want. With Shell, we are bringing rewards into one of Canada’s most frequent spending categories, making every stop an opportunity to unlock more value,” said Tracey Pearce, President, Scene+.

The national rollout follows an Alberta launch earlier this year that helped inform the broader expansion and demonstrated member demand for fuel-linked loyalty offerings and instant savings programs. The expansion reflects increasing consumer interest in rewards ecosystems that integrate more directly into recurring daily purchases.

Expanding Everyday Rewards Across Categories

With fuel now integrated into the loyalty ecosystem, members can earn and redeem points across additional everyday spending categories, including:

  • Eligible fuel purchases
  • Car washes
  • In-store convenience purchases
  • Grocery and retail transactions
  • Dining and entertainment experiences

The program continues to use a simplified redemption structure where, for most eligible redemptions, 1,000 Scene+ points equals $10 in value.

“Building on our Alberta launch earlier this year, and as part of our planned rollout, Scene+ is now available at Shell stations across Canada, making it easier for customers to earn and redeem rewards as part of their everyday routine. By bringing Scene+ to more than 1,400 Shell-branded locations nationwide, we’re focused on adding practical value and convenience whether customers are fueling up or stopping by for everyday needs,” said Kent Martin, General Manager, Shell Canada Mobility and Convenience, Shell Canada.

Strengthening Loyalty Through Financial Services Integration

The partnership also extends loyalty value for customers using eligible Scotiabank and Tangerine payment products. The companies said the integration supports accelerated earning opportunities and faster redemption experiences connected to routine consumer spending.

“Our clients want rewards that fit seamlessly into their everyday lives and deliver value faster. With accelerated earning and faster redemption, Scotiabank’s payment cards turn everyday spending – including fuel – into meaningful moments of value, reinforcing our role at the centre of our clients’ lives,” said Simona Salter, Executive Vice President, Cards, Loyalty, Payments and Client Experience, Scotiabank.

“Tangerine clients are looking for more intuitive ways to get more from their everyday spending. With fuel now part of the Scene+ program, they can earn and redeem in more places they already go, turning routine purchases into real value over time,” said Gaurav Singh, Senior Vice President, Client Solutions, Tangerine.

The expansion highlights how loyalty providers, financial institutions, and fuel retailers are increasingly aligning rewards programs with high-frequency consumer behaviours to improve retention, engagement, and long-term customer value.
