Taco Bueno Launches Drone Delivery in North Texas

Taco Bueno partners with Zipline to launch drone delivery in North Texas, expanding faster, more convenient food delivery for customers.

Taco Bueno has launched drone delivery in North Texas through a partnership with Zipline, expanding its digital ordering and delivery capabilities across the region.

Residents within 3 miles of North Beach Street in Watauga, Texas, can now order Taco Bueno meals through the Zipline app and receive deliveries directly to their homes via drone.

According to the company, the initiative is designed to improve convenience and delivery speed while expanding access to Taco Bueno’s Tex-Mex menu through new customer engagement channels.

Customers can place orders through the Zipline app by entering their address, browsing available menu items, and submitting an order for drone delivery. Once prepared, meals are transported directly to customers using Zipline’s delivery network.

“The drone-delivery partnership with Zipline is just one more example of the work we are doing to combine the heritage of Taco Bueno with innovations across products, service, technology, and customer experience,” said Dani Perales, Director of Marketing and Innovation, Taco Bueno.

“This new partnership gives guests a faster, more convenient way to enjoy Taco Bueno’s fresh, made-from-scratch Tex-Mex favourites without leaving home,” Perales added.

Expanding Rapid Food Delivery Experiences

According to Taco Bueno, the drone delivery initiative follows positive early results from its pilot programme and reflects broader investment in convenience-driven customer experiences.

The company stated that drone delivery supports faster fulfilment while giving customers greater flexibility in accessing restaurant services.

Following the Watauga launch, Taco Bueno plans to expand drone delivery operations to Frisco and Mesquite locations by the end of May, with an additional six to seven locations planned before the end of 2026.

Technology-Driven Customer Convenience

The partnership reflects growing investment by retailers and restaurants in alternative fulfilment models designed to improve operational efficiency and customer accessibility.

According to the company, the launch aligns with Taco Bueno’s broader strategy to modernise customer experience operations across ordering, delivery, and service channels. Founded in 1967, Taco Bueno currently operates 127 locations across the southern United States.
