Disney Store Launches AI Shopping Assistant

Disney Store has launched an AI shopping assistant to deliver personalised product recommendations and improve digital shopping experiences.

Disney Store has launched an AI-powered shopping assistant to help customers discover products through personalised recommendations and conversational shopping experiences.

Currently being piloted for selected iOS app users with registered Disney Store accounts, the assistant enables shoppers to search using natural language and receive product suggestions based on characters, age, occasion, or budget. Android and browser support will be introduced at a later stage.

The launch is part of Disney’s broader AI strategy to enhance digital customer experiences and make product discovery more intuitive and personalised.

Making Product Discovery More Personal

The AI shopping assistant responds in Disney’s brand voice and combines character knowledge with the retailer’s product catalogue to deliver tailored recommendations. Customers can also view product availability, receive sale alerts, complete purchases with one click, and track orders in real time.

The feature is designed to simplify shopping while helping customers quickly find products that match their preferences and gifting needs.

Expanding Digital and Physical Customer Experiences

Alongside the AI launch, Disney Store has announced two new retail locations inside Selfridges Birmingham and Selfridges Manchester Trafford, extending its physical retail presence across the UK.

“Disney Store is more than just a place to shop – it is a destination where fans can celebrate their love for Disney and immerse themselves in the wonder of storytelling through curated products, immersive retail environments and memorable experiences,” said Patrick Segar, Global General Manager, Disney Store and Vice President, Retail Marketing, Disney Store.

As retailers continue investing in AI-powered commerce, personalised shopping assistants are becoming an increasingly important tool for improving product discovery, customer engagement, and digital retail experiences.
