Amazon Expands Rapid Delivery with Amazon Now Across US Cities

Amazon expands its Amazon Now rapid delivery service across major US cities, offering groceries, household essentials, and local products in 30 minutes or less.

Amazon has expanded its rapid delivery service, Amazon Now, to dozens of cities across the United States as part of its broader push into ultra-fast delivery experiences.

The service provides customers with access to thousands of groceries, household essentials, electronics, and locally relevant products with delivery times of approximately 30 minutes or less.

Amazon Now is currently available in cities including Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth, Philadelphia, and Seattle, with expansion underway in Austin, Houston, Minneapolis, Orlando, Phoenix, Denver, and Oklahoma City.

According to Amazon, the company plans to extend the service to tens of millions of customers across additional US cities by the end of the year.

“Amazon Now is for when you need or want the convenience of getting your Amazon order delivered in 30 minutes or less. With thousands of items available for ultra-fast delivery, you can get everything from groceries for dinner, to AirPods before a flight, to household essentials like laundry detergent or toothpaste delivered right to your door,” said Udit Madan, Senior Vice President, Amazon Worldwide Operations.

Expanding Rapid Delivery and Convenience

Customers in supported regions can access the service through a “30-Minute Delivery” option within the Amazon app or website.

The platform supports product categories including:

  • Fresh groceries
  • Bakery items
  • Household essentials
  • Health and personal care
  • Baby products
  • Pet supplies
  • Electronics
  • Alcohol where permitted

According to Amazon, the service also includes personalised product recommendations and operates 24 hours a day in most supported areas.

Prime members receive discounted delivery pricing, while non-Prime customers pay higher delivery and small-order fees depending on order value.

Local Fulfillment Infrastructure

Amazon stated that Amazon Now operates through a network of smaller fulfillment locations positioned closer to customers to support rapid order processing and local delivery operations.

The expansion reflects growing customer demand for on-demand delivery experiences that combine speed, convenience, and broad product selection across ecommerce and grocery categories.

According to the company, Amazon Now complements existing one-hour, three-hour, and same-day delivery services already available across its broader delivery ecosystem.
