DoorDash Integrates with Shopify to Expand On-Demand Retail Delivery

DoorDash has integrated with Shopify, enabling eligible brick-and-mortar retailers in the US to list products on the DoorDash marketplace through Shopify.

DoorDash, a local commerce platform, has announced a direct integration with Shopify that enables eligible brick-and-mortar retailers in the US to list their products on the DoorDash marketplace through Shopify.

DoorDash is now available as a native sales channel in Shopify’s App Store, allowing Shopify merchants with physical stores in the US to add their product catalogues to the DoorDash marketplace without a separate onboarding process, manual catalogue uploads or changes to their existing operations. The company said it plans international expansion in the coming months.

“Local, independent retailers are the heart of local commerce, and they deserve tools that work as hard as they do. As the first on-demand marketplace that Shopify merchants can activate directly from their existing Shopify Admin, we’re opening the door to retail merchants who can now reach their communities,” said Mike Goldblatt, Vice President of Enterprise Partnerships at DoorDash.

“Merchants want to sell wherever their customers are, and increasingly that means meeting them with speed and convenience. This integration puts local retailers in front of DoorDash shoppers and enables same-day sales, all managed inside Shopify,” said Atlee Clark, Vice President of Partnerships at Shopify.

The integration allows merchants to continue using their existing Shopify workflows while extending their reach to DoorDash customers without leaving the platform.

DoorDash said self-service onboarding is built directly into Shopify, reducing setup time from weeks to days. Product catalogues and inventory are automatically synchronised, allowing merchants to manage their catalogue in Shopify while reflecting stock availability on DoorDash in real time.

The integration is available to a range of retailers, including gift shops, sporting goods stores and speciality food retailers, enabling them to offer on-demand delivery through DoorDash without changing their existing operations.
