Farm Rio Launches Store in London

The store includes the whole Farm Rio line, including a customised capsule for London that features famous pieces with Farm Rio’s unique patterns.

Farm Rio, a Brazilian fashion and leisure company, has launched its first standalone store in Europe. The shop is the brand’s 100th internationally and is the next stage in its global development plan, after the inauguration of its first physical location in London at the department store Liberty in 2022.

Kátia Barros, co-founder and creative director at Farm Rio, said “Since our inception in 1997 at an independent producers’ market, we have developed into one of Brazil’s most popular lifestyle brands. However, opening a store over the ocean in another big fashion centre is far more than a huge accomplishment; it is an ambition come true.”

Farm Rio collaborated with Brazilian architect and designer Marcelo Rosenbaum to develop an immersive space that “evokes a poetic interpretation of Brazilian nature,” which includes painted-by-hand tropical wallpaper and buriti straw fitting rooms, as well as a 26-meter marquetry-crafted panel in the store’s centre.

The store includes the whole Farm Rio line, including a customised capsule for London that features famous pieces with Farm Rio’s unique patterns. These limited-edition items and prints, like the ‘London Goes Bananas’ print, pay homage to the city by blending a classic checkered pattern with tropical flowers and bananas on a scarf, silkscreen tote bag, and T-shirt.
