Currys Partners with WelcoMe

Currys’ partnership addresses the growing demand for more inclusive and accessible retail experiences, enabling customers with additional needs to receive tailored support during store visits.

Currys has partnered with WelcoMe, a platform that allows customers with additional needs to pre-book a personalised shopping experience in its stores.

Through the WelcoMe website or app, customers can create a personal profile outlining their access and communication preferences, such as mobility assistance, sensory needs, or preferred communication methods. They can also indicate what they plan to purchase or explore in-store, helping staff prepare for a smooth visit.

Once a visit is scheduled, Currys store teams receive an alert along with short training videos and visitor-specific guidance. The platform also promotes general disability awareness through ongoing staff education.

After a pilot in Currys’ London and Birmingham stores, the service has now launched in locations across Ireland.

“Everyone deserves a comfortable and supportive shopping experience,” said Jaimie Cantwell, Head of Brand & Marketing at Currys Ireland. “This partnership is part of our ongoing commitment to accessibility and inclusion for all customers.”

WelcoMe Founder, Gavin Neate, said, “Currys is an ideal partner to encourage the engagement of people with additional needs. The staff we have worked with so far could not have been more excited to test out our platform, and their excitement around its potential to support customers and staff alike has been truly inspiring.”
