PNC Launches Tiered Rewards to Anchor Client Loyalty

PNC TotalRewards introduces tiered benefits, giving customers more transparency, flexibility, and value as their banking relationship grows.

PNC Bank has launched PNC TotalRewards, a relationship-based loyalty programme designed to provide clients/consumers with greater value, transparency, and flexibility. The programme gives customers a clearer view of the benefits they receive and how those benefits increase as their relationship with the bank grows.

PNC TotalRewards includes fee waivers, credit card rewards, and relationship-based benefits, ensuring customers receive value from the start while offering additional rewards as engagement increases.

“PNC TotalRewards is developed around the idea of building a true partnership with our clients,” said Alex Overstrom, head of Retail Banking at PNC. “When someone chooses PNC, we want them to feel the full value of that relationship. Not only in exceptional service and hospitality, but also in the meaningful financial benefits that come from building a relationship at PNC.”

Customers who maintain an average eligible balance of $25,000 or more across deposit and investment accounts can qualify for Silver, Gold, or Platinum tiers.

Each tier offers additional benefits, including enhanced credit card rewards, cash rewards on lending products, and higher savings rates.

Customers in the Gold and Platinum tiers also gain access to Priority or Concierge Care services.

PNC began piloting the programme with employees in 2025 and later introduced it to customers in the Chicago region. The phased rollout enabled the bank to gather feedback and refine the experience before a national launch.

“PNC TotalRewards gives us the opportunity to show customers that their relationship genuinely matters. We’ve designed the programme to provide clear, practical benefits and give customers more control over how they earn and use rewards,” said Victoria Dravneek, Head of Loyalty Strategy and Platforms, PNC.

PNC TotalRewards complements the bank’s Premier Client offering by extending additional benefits to customers with higher asset levels.

Premier clients automatically qualify for higher reward tiers, offering expanded benefits, priority service, and broader access to PNC’s services.

The programme also includes additional benefits for military members, who automatically qualify for the Silver tier as part of the bank’s recognition of their service.

There are no enrolment fees, and customers can automatically move between tiers as their balances and engagement with the bank increase. Customers can track rewards, view tier status, and explore benefits through online and mobile banking, account statements, or by visiting a branch.
