The Pick-up lockers are another way IKEA is improving its omnichannel shopping experience in Australia and meeting its customers when and where they want.
IKEA has unveiled a new service at its Rhodes store in Sydney, introducing 54 pick-up lockers located near the existing click-and-collect area. Customers can now conveniently collect their online orders anytime between 3 am and midnight, providing flexibility for those with busy schedules.
The lockers will be used for orders big and small, with space for everything from must-have home furnishing accessories to larger flatpack furniture items.
All customers need to do is select ‘Pick-up locker’ when they place their order online, via the IKEA app, via remote shopping or in store. Once the locker option is selected, the customer is sent an email notification when their order is ready, with a unique PIN number they can use to open the locker at any time of their choosing.
The cost of using a Pick-up locker is the same as click and collect – free for IKEA Family members, or prices starting at $5 for non-members. The new Pick-up lockers are another way IKEA is improving its omnichannel shopping experience in Australia and meeting its customers when and where they want.
Michael Davey-Sutherland, Fulfilment Development Manager at IKEA Australia, said, “We are always looking for ways to make shopping at IKEA more convenient and accessible. We’re excited to be able to give our Sydney customers the opportunity to now pick up their orders with one quick stop at any time that suits them.”
“We look forward to seeing how our customers in the Rhodes area respond to Pick-up lockers and hope to roll them out across more of our stores Australia-wide.”
