LinkedIn will soon launch a Clubhouse-style live audio room feature which the company has been working on for a while.

“Starting this month, we’ll be beta testing this new interactive experience with Audio Events. We’ll kick off with a few thousand creators who will host events across different topics and themes – any member can tune in and participate. We’ll expand the ability to host Audio Events to more creators in the coming months, and we’ll start rolling out our Video Events format later this spring,” stated LinkedIn.

The company will be rolling out a new events platform where users can list, host, and market interactive, virtual live events. The feature will initially start as an audio-only product.

After the audio-only version, users will be getting a video version expected to launch in spring, aiming to target Creators that are using LinkedIn as organizers and hosts. With virtual events finding strong traction throughout the past years of pandemic life, LinkedIn’s new events product will be an all-virtual offering and open up the format to be shaped by those running the events.

LinkedIn also notes that it has capacity to highlight the most relevant audio sessions to each member:

“We have the professional context to recommend the most relevant events that can help you learn, network and be successful, and we’re investing more in surfacing these events to you. Whether an event by a creator or page you follow, or a topic you’re passionate about, we will surface the events that will help you reach your career goals.”

These event platforms will be used to build content at career development, professional topics and other ideas related to LinkedIn. The website aims to create a more active Creator Community granting creators access to LinkedIn Live.

LinkedIn’s annual virtual event creation has grown over 150% in the last year and a 231% increase in attendees of virtual events.
